Judge dismisses promoters' lawsuit against Jackson

mj_002
A federal judge on Thursday dismissed a multimillion-dollar lawsuit by a concert promoter against the late Michael Jackson over a failed reunion concert.

U.S. District Judge Harold Baer Jr. granted a motion by lawyers for Jackson's estate to dismiss the case, citing a lack of evidence that the late King of Pop or his family were under a binding agreement to perform at a reunion concert.

AllGood Entertainment Inc., a company started in Morristown, N.J., sued Jackson for $40 million on June 10, 2009, roughly two weeks before the singer's death in Los Angeles at age 50. It claimed Jackson and his then-manager broke a contract for a Jackson reunion show.

AllGood later filed a creditor's claim with Jackson's estate, claiming the potential value of the lawsuit was at least $300 million.

Baer determined that there was a letter of intent between Jackson's then-manager, Frank DiLeo, and AllGood, but never an enforceable contract. He noted that neither Jackson nor any other members of the family who were to be involved in the show ever signed a contract.

Daring to Criticize Chris Brown after Tribute to Jackson at BET Awards? MiniB#77 OLS (Open-letter Style)

mjeolbulletnewletterheader
The day after Chris Brown performed a tribute to Michael Jackson at the 2010 BET Awards, the blogosphere and entertainment media were full of lunatics, weekend psychiatrists and fake-a$$ mind-readers pretending to know exactly why Brown broke down into tears during his performance.

I will be quite blunt and speak directly to anyone this MJEOL Bullet applies to: Those of you who treated Michael Jackson like a piece of $hit shouldn't even open your foul mouths about Brown's motives.

Every REAL Michael Jackson fan knew exactly how Chris Brown felt at that moment. And when I say REAL fan, I'm not talking about some of you critics who didn't give a rat's a$s about Michael Jackson after 1985; Or those of you who suddenly remembered he existed because he stopped breathing one day; Or those of you fake fair weather "fans" who were only ever into Michael Jackson because everybody else was at the time;  Or those of you who pretended like you didn't know who he was as he was going through undeserved $hit-storms particularly the last 16 years of his life.

I won't pretend to be inside Chris Brown's head. But he hasn't given me a reason to think it was an act. Actually, if Chris Brown is that great of an actor, Hollywood should be falling all over themselves to put him in movies.

Some things just are what they are whether you want to accept it or not.  When Brown was so overcome he couldn't speak, that moment goes a long way to illustrate all you need to know about how a great number of real Michael Jackson fans feel even to this day.

Those who are too jaded to see past their own noses didn't pay any attention to the emotion of the moment and sought instead to come up with some smart-a$s reason why it happened.

Chris Brown finally gets his Michael Jackson tribute at BET Awards 2010 | EW.com

ew
As far as I’m concerned, there’s only been one Michael Jackson tribute. Tonight (June 27) Chris Brown finally got his shot at paying homage to his fallen idol, Michael Jackson, at the BET Awards 2010. Jackson’s brother Jermaine introduced Brown, who popped up on stage in a blue shirt, black slacks, white socks, and Jackson’s trademark black loafers. It was a spot-on pull from Jackson’s look at 1988′s Grammy Awards.

Media Still Refusing to Accept the Truth

JUNE 14 2006 - I have never been one to depend on the media to accurately report or review anything concerning Michael Jackson.  With yesterday (June 13 2006) being the one year anniversary of Jackson's vindication by a non-black, conservative Santa Maria jury, I didn't really expect the media to spend any time acknowledging the day.

Imagine my surprise as I flipped to MSNBC and caught a segment of the Allison Stewart-hosted show "The Most" where they mentioned the one year mark.  ...
