All this comes to mind because of Rhymefest. On his amazing "Man in the Mirror,” a free "dedication album” that at press time was available at www.rhymefeststore.com, the Chicago rapper tells lucky downloaders that "labels is falling in the streets.” But that attitude is probably the least remarkable element of "Man in the Mirror.” Chiefly, this is art made purely for art's sake, a sly tribute to Michael Jackson that derives its energy from the sheer joy of creation, unsullied by red tape and market concerns. |

Country music superstar Neal McCoy wanted to be an entertainer after seeing Michael Jackson perform on tv, according to a PRNewswire report.
The report focuses on McCoy's upcoming 13th USO Tour and performance for service members serving in the Persian Gulf. But there was a passing mention about what helped to spark McCoy's interest in the music business.

Over the past few days, rumors circulated by a few online news sites
claimed that Michael Jackson spokesperson and general manager Raymone
Bain was o-u-t.
According to various MJ fan sites including www.jacksonland.it, Bain
says the rumors were not true and she had never so much as heard of one
of the main online news sites spreading the rumor.

In an interview with the Bradenton Herald, actor/comedian Tracy Morgan says he likes to listen to Michael Jackson's music at times when he's not performing.
Morgan, who gave a phone interview with the news outlet, lists Jackson as one of his inspirations and apparently had Thriller playing in the background during the interview.

UK tabloid The Sun is running a story on their website about Matt Fiddes, one of Michael Jackson’s former UK bodyguards.
While sticking to the asinine ‘Jacko’ tabloid-created moniker, the
article is surprisingly without the usual pile of trash masquerading as
news often found in Jackson-related articles; particularly from tabloid
sources.
Among other things, Fiddes is quoted as saying “Michael must be the
most misunderstood man in the world. He is such a nice guy behind
closed doors.”
