Dinner with a billionaire, shopping in the midnight hour then a bizarre encounter between a Jesus lookalike and Superman which resulted in the police being called outside his hotel in the early hours. Jackson and his entourage are making a rare visit to London as he will appear tomorrow night at the World Music Awards in what will be his first performance in the UK in almost a decade. Jackson, 48, is staying at the Hempel Hotel in Bayswater, which he has taken over at the cost of £50,000 a night. He made a brief appearance on his hotel balcony to wave at the cheering crowds. Some wept openly at the sight of Jackson, wearing a sparkling black jacket and dark glasses. He left for a dinner date at Nobu with billionaire retail tycoon Sir Philip Green. They left to the sound of screaming fans and headed -where else? - to the Oxford Street branch of Topshop which Sir Philip opened up especially for Jackson. He meandered through the ladieswear, lingerie, menswear and accessories departments. It is not known what Jackson bought, but with debts reported last year at £157million, its bargain designs will have appealed to his wallet if not his bizarre taste in fashion. As he arrived back at the Hempel, Jackson, who was cleared of child molestation charges last year, was greeted by the sight of a man dressed as Superman appearing to grapple with another dressed as Jesus, who was clutching a pornographic magazine. The Jesus lookalike was "comedy terrorist" Aaron Barschak, best known for gatecrashing Prince William's 21st birthday party. Barschak was arrested by police and taken away.
