Thriller25, the hot reissue of Michael Jackson's landmark album, is charting all over the world after its first week of release.

The re-issue counts its sales towards the original album. Therefore, it's #1 on the Pop Catalog charts but not on the Billboard 200 Album chart, even though it sold close to the amount Jack Johnson's #1 album sold in the same week period. Days ago, we reported about the Hitsdaily numbers and the whispers of Thriller25 over-performing in sales after only a couple of days into it's release. The official numbers beat even the Hitsdaily estimate.

According to figures from SonyBMG, Thriller25 debuted at #1 in France and Belgium, #2 in countries like Germany and Australia; #3 in the UK; #4 in Spain; #5 in Ireland and #6 in Italy.

Just a couple of days after its release, we were getting reports from all over the place saying the album was sold out or that fans had to go to 2, sometimes 3, different stores before finding a copy.

To that point, SonyBMG released a statement about the success of the album and revealed that re-orders for the re-release are "flooding in".

Here's a list, as of SonyBMG's press release, about Thriller25's charting positions:
#1 in France
#1 in Belgium
#2 in Germany
#2 in Australia
#2 in the Netherlands
#2 in Norway (Thriller's highest position ever in that country)
#2 in Sweden
#2 in Switzerland
#3 in the UK
#3 in Denmark
#3 in New Zealand
#4 in Spain
#5 in Austria
#5 in Ireland
#6 in the Czech Republic
#6 in Italy

Not only is the album doing well, but singles from the album are making their way onto the charts, despite no videos or commercial singles. Beat It 2008 featuring Fergie slipped into the Hot Canadian Digital Singles chart this week for the first time at #66.

Wanna Be Startin' Somethin' 2008 featuring Akon jumped from #45 to #33 on the same chart.
