On Sunday, June 10, the Los Angeles community will be celebrating the 10th anniversary of the Rev. Dr. Frederick O. Murph's leadership of Brookins Community A.M.E. Church. At this gala event, Aphrodite Jones will be presented with The Outstanding Journalist Award for her invaluable service to the community at-large.

At this gala event, Thomas A. Mesereau, Jr., will be presented with The Eagle Award. Proceeds from this gala event will benefit the Mesereau-Ephriam-Villaraigosa (MEV) Free Legal Clinic, a program of the Brookins Community Development Corporation, a 501(c)3 Corporation serving the community. The MEV Free Legal Clinic has provided the residents of South Los Angeles with many important services, such as seminars on Predatory Lending/Reverse Mortgages/Credit Restoration.
