Respect him in death like you didn't do during his life

Blog entry 7:55PM

The people who were very close to Michael Jackson and who are mature enough not to be irresponsible with their words have conducted themselves with respect in the wake of an incredibly difficult time for the world. Rev Al Sharpton and Gladys Knight are a few.

However, while watching news coverage today I have seen people like Deepak Chopra and Jackson-hanger-on Brian Oxman who have both behaved in an unacceptably irresponsible way, and they should both be slapped in the mouth for creating/spreading unconfirmed and speculative comments about Jackson's death.

Oxman, who apparently never met a camera he didn't like, started not even 24 hours after Jackson's death.

Michael's body ain't even in the ground yet and they got their happy a$ses in front of a camera talking about something neither one of them know anything about.

To a lesser extent, I have had to listen to Ed Gordon and others make the allegation that Michael had lightened his skin, while other celebrity "friends" have disrespected his memory by commenting on things like plastic surgery. Not one person declined to even go there nor have they mentioned Jackson's vitiligo.

Who the hell cares if Michael's nose was the size of a thimble or the size of Texas? It means NOTHING at this point and they have contributed to this air of caricature instead of providing any insight into the man.

At this point, I feel like this: Unless you were there and saw him get shot up with pain medicine, I don't wanna hear $hit about what you THINK happened. Don't get on TV playing Mr. 'I-knew-it-all-along' without thinking at all about what his children would feel. Or without making room for the notion that just maybe you didn't know $hit about Michael Jackson's current life.

That also goes for ex-wives, ex-employees and ex-friends who all helped contribute to the massive amounts of stress and pressure he found himself under.

Michael Jackson would never use your death as an opportunity to float unconfirmed speculation or pretend to be psychic and act as if he knew about things of which he had no idea.

As for the media, you better damn well give him the respect in death that you so thoroughly failed to give him in life, or else you will get a backlash on a scale like you have never seen before.

Now with this posting I can agree. Michael was not given the respect he deserved in life that he should have been by many. I have to agree that Michael was thrown to the wolves by many and now is the fab fav of many who couldn't be bothered before. I agree what does it matter how many surgeries he had to change how he looked besides the fact that it was obvious by those that he was not happy with himself before them. If he ended up happy with how he looked after them who are we to judge that? People do things to alter how they look all the time to make themselves happy ranging from boob jobs to some people who drastically change their looks to resemble an animal or something else that is of interest to them. Michael was very unhappy for a number of reasons in his lifetime and if changing is appearance made him happier then why should anyone have been so negative towards him? His death demands indeed the respect his life was not given and yes I agree it would be unwise for media to continue to disregard his childrens feelings with uninformed, poorly researched, or wrongful reports in the days, weeks, months, even years to come. His children are human too and have feelings and it would seem if people pay enough attention that at least his youngest has his fathers extremely gentle nature and this could cause similar damage for this childs fragile personality if he is anything like his father. Michael would not have wanted that for his son I am sure and I am sure that the best way to respect him now would be to keep that in mind in future publications of whatever. This is my way of looking at this piece. I hope no one minds the length. I just have a lot of thoughts and wanted to share my views.

Thank you so much for expressing so well how I feel. I am still in shock over MJ's untimely death....I have always loved his music, felt he was a complete genius and been a huge fan. I NEVER believed any of these outrageous charges and hated Martin Bashir for how he betrayed MJ. I just wish there was some way or someone who could put together an expose or something on how the sheriff's dept along with Tom Sneddon and the complicity of ALL of the media destroyed the reputation and spirit of someone we ALL should have appreciated for his musical genius as well as everything he did as a humanitarian.
Someone who was completely innocent and completely victimized.
I can't stop thinking of the injustice of it all and I am
heartbroken for him and for his children. If no other reason, it would be nice to be able to put something together that clearly refutes all of the lies for his childrens sake...it is not like there is not enough evidence out there...it just needs
to brought to light for everyone to see.
I know, it won't happen but if it were within my power to do it, I would.
