There is an error with the MJEOL forums that currently weren't having trouble resolving. :pullhair It is an error that has locked up the largest and most important database table in the forums: the table with all of our posts in it. It's an error that sometimes occurs with Invision board, vBulletin, phpBB, and other forums. It's a problem with mySQL version/software and my host has been working on and off all day to try to solve it. Nothing else is affected though, that's why you're able to read this message. But because of the forum instability, it is probably what also caused the "too many connections" error some of you saw yesterday. It's also usually fixed with a simple 'repair table' command. However, given the enormous size of that table, it times-out before the table can be repaired. (And yeah I've increased values in php.ini) I'm not sure if the data is lost or if it's just 'locked away' and unavailable. This is not a host problem. It's not something that can be fixed with more bandwidth or space, so that's not the problem. If the data is ever restored, I'm not going to ever allow one database to get as large as this one got, so as not to make it incredibly difficult to restore when something like this happens. At the moment, I'm not sure if I should just chuck the damn thing OR start over. Both of these options suck and you all deserve so much better than that. So I'd like to get your opinions on this if the data can't be restored. If you will, look to your left and vote for the option you think is best.
