Vantage Point the Issue under Police Cross-examination MiniBullet #9 Accusers brothers story may be impeached before he even takes the stand MARCH 4 2005 The accusers younger brother, Star Arvizo, couldnt have possibly saw Michael Jackson molest his brother from the vantage point he claims he saw it, say the defense. This was a huge point brought out by the defense while cross-examining criminologist Al Laughferty (sp?) yesterday (March 3 2005). This, from our observation, was only reported by two reporters Mike Taibbi (MSNBC) and Savannah Guthrie (Court TV) although it should have been a headline. The defense reportedly established under cross-examination that the 510 tall criminologist may not have had any trouble seeing Jacksons bed from where the accusers brother alleged he witnessed acts of molestation. But a considerably shorter person, the height of Star Arvizo at the time, would not have been able to see Jacksons bed. In other words, given his height, from where Star Arvizo claims he was standing when he witnessed alleged molestation, its not possible to see Jacksons bed. Guthrie reported on Court TV March 3 2005 that this was a big point made by the defense. From her on-air comments:
GUTHRIE: Well one of the boy points the defense attorney jury brought up, he said, Well, how tall are you? [The officer] said 510. [The attorney said] Ok and you shot with [a camera] over you shoulder? [He said], Yes. [The attorney said] So youre your vantage point and youre that tall. Clearly, the implication being that this might be your birds eye view, but the accusers younger brother is quite a bit shorter and would not have been able to see it. (see Court TV: Guthrie talks about police cross-examination March 2 2005)
Taibbi also brought this point out during one of his live reports about what happened under cross-examination of this officer. He reported March 3 2005:
TAIBBI: Also making the point for the defense was that the view from the banister of the top level of Michael Jacksons bed would not have afforded a young and shorter boy, the accusers younger brother, a line of sight to the bed where he claims to have seen what he said he saw. (see MSNBC : Taibbi talks about cross-examination of Criminologist March 3 2005)
Taibbi also says the defense scored points in reference to another allegation of the family. The family all claimed they were kept away from clocks and dates or that there werent any clocks at Neverland. This may have been an excuse to cover up why they are all so vague on direct times and dates of these alleged crimes was supposed to have taken place. Taibbi says the defense brought out through the criminologists cross-examination the fact that there are clocks all over Neverland. If youve ever seen an aerial shot of Neverland, youll notice that Jackson has a clock built into the landscape of the main house. It is also fully lit at night. There is also another huge, stationary clock right when you open the doors of Jacksons main house, as evidenced during Jacksons Fox News interview with Geraldo Rivera. So the family has clearly lied under oath already and the defense has begun to undercut the brothers testimony before hes even been called to the stand. Stay tuned. -MJEOL
