Fans have been waiting since Wednesday for tickets to Jackson’s 50 “final curtain call” concerts in London.
Michael Jackson is leaving the music scene with a bang. Fans have been waiting since Wednesday for tickets that went on sale this morning at 7 a.m. for his last 50 concerts in London according to CNN.
Tickets cost up to $105 for general admission while VIP tickets costing up to $1,1000. Approximately 750,000 tickets have been sold.
Jackson’s popularity has apparently not suffered. Originally, he was scheduled to do 10 shows at the arena in London that houses 20,000 people. Due to such high demand though, another 40 dates have been added. The shows will start in July and end next February.
There was “an unprecedented level of demand” Chris Edmonds, managing director of Ticketmaster told CNN. “He’s a legend despite all the controversy in his past,” said Ayesha Obi, the fan who was first in line to get her ticket. She was the first of many that showed their dedication to the pop superstar.
