Jackson ‘dismisses rehab rumours' Feb 24 2004 Singer Michael Jackson has denied “vicious” press reports that he has checked into a rehabilitation centre, according to his official fan club. He was “appalled” by the story that he was treated in Aspen, Colorado, he said – and was on holiday with his children. It was “simply another of a litany of false rumours”, he said in a statement released through the fan club. Mr Jackson is currently awaiting trial on seven child abuse charges. He has vigorously denied the accusations. He said he wanted to enjoy the snow in Aspen with his family – but the rehab story was circulated “by people who are simply lying to further their own agenda”. “I am here for a few days with my children. I am outraged by these constant rumours,” he said. “My team and I are going to use our best efforts to find out who these people are, who are continually trying to bring me grief and shame, and we are going to stop it.” There have been a string of reports about the singer’s private life and finances on top of the child abuse allegations. Mr Jackson is charged with seven counts of lewd or lascivious acts with a child under 14 and two counts of giving the child an “intoxicating agent”. The next court hearing is due to be held on 2 April. :nav Source: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/entertainment/music/3515869.stm :4pinned Your Comments?
