Hundreds mark 50 years for Four Tops By Kelley L. Carter February 26, 2004 With tears in his eyes, Four Tops lead singer Levi Stubbs listened Wednesday night as a statement from pop star and ex-Motowner Michael Jackson was read. The ailing singer batted his eyes as he heard Jackson refer to him as “a true legend and an American treasure.” Hundreds came out to the Roostertail in Detroit to help celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Four Tops and to deliver well-wishes to Stubbs, who has not performed with the group since 2000 after suffering a mild heart attack and a stroke. Others present included members of the Supremes :nav Source: www.mjjsource.com//www.freep.com
