Michael Jackson to stop Jesus Juice wine November 8, 2005, 12:30:49 Michael Jackson’s lawyers are set to try and stop a couple producing a wine called ‘Jesus Juice’. The star’s legal team are likely to investigate after ‘CBS Evening News’ producer Bruce Rheins and his wife, Dawn Westlake, applied to trademark the name. . ‘Jesus Juice’ was the name Jackson allegedly gave to the wine he reportedly gave to the boy he was accused of abusing. . Rheins – who was in charge of the CBS news coverage of the singer’s trial, which saw Jackson cleared of all charges – recently submitted a ‘Jesus Juice’ logo to be copyrighted, which featured a man hanging on a crucifix, wearing Jackson’s trademark fedora hat, sequinned glove and black loafers. . The star’s spokeswoman, Raymone Bains, said: “I fully expect that Mr. Jackson’s lawyers will have an objectionable response”. However, Rheins and Westlake insist they were only producing a few bottles of ‘Jesus Juice’ for personal use. The newsman told America’s New York Daily News newspaper: “My wife and I are hobby winemakers We made a few bottles for friends. We never wanted to sell it. We only trademarked it because we didn’t want other people to try to make money off it. “I apologise to anybody who is offended by this It was an irreverent idea that, in hindsight, I would discard – just like I’ll probably discard those labels” Source: http://www.femalefirst.co.uk/celebrity/70692004.htm
