The package, about the size of a candy box, bore a Korean postmark and had no return address, the office’s chief criminal investigator, David Saunders, said Friday. About 100 people were evacuated shortly after 4 p.m. Thursday for less than an hour, he said. The package was X-rayed and found to contain a videotape, Saunders said. Officials had not yet viewed the tape. Saunders declined to comment on whether Sneddon’s highly public feud with pop star Michael Jackson contributed to concerns about the package. Jackson is being prosecuted by the district attorney’s office and has pleaded not guilty to child molestation, conspiracy and administering an intoxicating agent, alcohol.
