LA Times: Media Frenzy Cause of False Jackson Info

LA Times
The past week has been filled with breathless rumors and revelations from supposed intimates of Michael Jackson. Hyper-competitive news outlets are lapping up supposedly inside information from a motley cast of supporting characters, including Deepak Chopra, Lou Ferrigno and Al Sharpton, as well as many lesser lights.

A top publicist hired by the dead singer’s family has lashed back at the extensive and error-prone media coverage.

“People should be embarrassed when they print, blog or say things on the air that are proven to be entirely untrue or partially untrue,” said Ken Sunshine, a veteran PR consultant retained Wednesday by the Jackson family. “And there should be a shame in it.

Debbie Rowe Gives up Parental Rights: Transcript from 2001 – Bullet #331

mj_003
In the wake of Michael Jackson’s passing, there is talk about Debbie Rowe possibly seeking custody of Prince and Paris Jackson. But damaging words out of her own mouth may put a wrench in her plans.

No matter what she says now, Rowe has already repeatedly gone on record talking about what a wonderful father Michael Jackson was and how she didn’t want to be a mother.

On Oct 17 2001, Rowe and her lawyer Iris Finsilver appeared at a hearing to officially terminate her parental rights. This following is taken from a motion initiated by Rowe through her attorney.  Because of a procedural problem — a technicality, really — the termination of her parental rights was overturned.

Damning Docs from Debbie Rowe Parental Rights Termination Hearing

Damaging documents from Debbie Rowe’s Parental Rights termination hearing were found and posted years ago by the now defunct entertainment show Celebrity Justice.

The documents are a transcript of the hearing where Rowe has some very damning things to say about her relationship – or lack thereof – with Prince Michael Jackson and Paris Jackson.

At the Oct 17 2001 hearing when Rowe was represented by attorney Iris Finsilver, she said the last time she had even seen the children was almost a year before the hearing. She also testified that she never had so much as a desire to call them over the phone.

Michael Jackson Breaks Billboard Charts Records

mj_010
As predicted, Michael Jackson is once again the King of the Pop charts.

Based on preliminary sales numbers from Nielsen SoundScan, the entire top nine positions on Billboard’s Top Pop Catalog Albums chart will house Jackson-related titles when the tally is released in the early morning on Wednesday (July 1). Nielsen SoundScan’s sales tracking week ended at the close of business on Sunday (June 28) night.

Jackson himself has a record eight out of the top 10, while a Jackson 5 compilation also finds its way into the upper tier.

F— you, Martin Bashir – MJEOL Bullet #330

I vividly remember trying to express my total disgust back in 2003 as I watched Martin Bashir lace his infamous Living with Michael Jackson “documentary” with innuendo, speculation, personal insults, and unfounded critiques.

Martin Bashit Imagine my repulsion as I watched him on ABC’s site proclaiming to be “deeply saddened” by Michael Jackson’s passing and being “excited” about the upcoming performances in London.

He owes the chair he’s sitting in to Michael Jackson. Would ABC have given a second thought to some obscure British reporter for a spot at the famed Nightline? He rode Jackson’s coattails from one continent to another and into the spotlight at ABC.

He threw Michael Jackson under the bus after pretending to be someone he could trust. He chopped up video footage of his time with Jackson specifically to be as sensational as possible. He knew what would draw attention and what wouldn’t, and he used it to get his footing in the U.S.

Grace Rwaramba Slaps down False Reports: Press Release

“Michael Jackson was an exceptional Human Being. He was gifted, deeply compassionate and brought joy to the lives of so many. He loved his family dearly, and above all, his beautiful children.

In addition to being my employer over the past 17 years and entrusting the care of his beloved children to me, he was my dear friend. While our friendship had challenges, as do all friendships, he was loyal to the end. I cherish and honor his memory.
