The defense’s Notice of Motion and Motion Compelling Disclosure of Informant’s Identity or, in the Alternative, Dismissing the Accusatory pleading The prosecution claims to have an “informant” from which allegations against Jackson have arose and have resulted in a charge(s) against Jackson. The defense wants the prosecution to name that person or drop the charges that originated from their “information”. This person may not exist, they may not even know Jackson, or they may not have even been around Jackson during the time the prosecution is claiming a crime occurred. That’s what the defense is trying to find out. Essentially, you can’t hide behind the cover of the prosecution, make allegations that result in charges against people, and NOT give the accused a chance to defend himself. 44 pages
