Anyone familiar with the history of shoddy reporting, including “specials” on Jackson run on the likes of Primetime Live, will know why this news is being posted here. – Admin ABC Ousts Top ‘Primetime Live’ Executive NEW YORK (AP) — ABC ousted the top executive behind “Primetime Live,” which has struggled for ratings in a tough time slot, after she was on the job for less than a year. Shelley Ross, the show’s executive producer, will develop and produce other programming for ABC News, network news President David Westin said. David Sloan, currently executive producer of “20/20,” will lead ABC’s second newsmagazine on an interim basis. The news division will learn in the next two months whether the network wants to continue with “Primetime.” Ross shifted somewhat reluctantly to “Primetime” last spring after several years as the top executive behind “Good Morning America.” She declined to comment on Monday’s move. The show averaged 6.9 million viewers this season, tied for No. 79 among prime-time programs, according to Nielsen Media Research. That’s down from 8 million viewers last year. It competes on Thursdays against CBS’ “Without a Trace” and NBC’s “ER,” two shows that are routinely in or near Nielsen’s top 10.
