[b]Michael Jackson removed from copyright lawsuit[/b] By David Lindquist February 24, 2004 Gary native Michael Jackson won’t be coming back to Indiana — at least not for court proceedings in a 7-year-old lawsuit that accuses him of trade-name and copyright infringement. A federal judge has ruled that Jackson had no involvement in the release of “Pre-History: The Lost Steeltown Recordings,” a 1996 compilation of early Jackson 5 songs. As a result, the famed singer will be deleted as a defendant when a civil case filed by Gary-based musicians and their producer goes to trial next month… The new judgment clears Jackson of any liability.
