‘s 25th anniversary Thriller reissue on Sony Legacy is selling even better than expected, with a projected first-week total of 120k that should easily place it in next week’s Top 5. The new package includes the original nine songs, five tracks remixed with will.i.am, Akon, Fergie and Kanye West, a ballad, "For All Time," that was left off the original, and a DVD featuring the three classic videos ("Beat It," "Billie Jean," "Thriller") and a clip of the King of Pop moon-walking for the first time on the Motown 25th anniversary show. Props to John Ingrassia and his Commercial Music Group for a job well done on this historic package. Michael Jackson Thanks Fans in Video

NEW YORK (AP) — Michael Jackson appeared in a video to thank fans for the success of "Thriller," the landmark record the reclusive singer is marking with a 25th anniversary edition.

Jackson will release the new version of the blockbuster album Tuesday, featuring new collaborations with Kanye West, Akon, Fergie and will.i.am.

"It’s hard to believe that 25 years ago Quincy Jones and I embarked on an album named `Thriller,’" Jackson said in a video message to fans released Monday by his record company, Sony-BMG.

WASHINGTON, Feb. 11  /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ — To celebrate the 25th anniversary of the release of "Thriller," XM Radio will launch a new channel dedicated to the music of pop icon Michael Jackson on March 1, it was announced today.  

The new channel, "XM THRILLER: The Music of Michael Jackson" (XM 63), will feature Jackson’s solo work, as well as recordings from The Jackson 5, interviews and stories from other artists, plus other unique content that celebrates Jackson’s musical contributions.
