[/b] by Tanya Kersey-Henley (Feb. 17, 2004) If you’re like most Americans, you’re probably totally confused by the steady stream of talking heads popping up on virtually every broadcast and cable news show and speaking for embattled pop superstar, Michael Jackson. You may have even asked yourself, “who is the ‘real’ Jackson spokesperson?”… With nearly a month lull between the Jan. 16 arraignment and the Feb. 13 hearing, and now almost six weeks before the next court date (April 2), we’re witnessing an onslaught of non-case related coverage in an effort to distract the public’s attention from the fact that there is little newsworthy information to report… I recall myself literally cringing as I watched Stacy Brown appealing to Jackson on national television by saying, “Michael, your family DOES love you.” Adding insult to injury Brown then went on to reprimand Jackson for not calling his “she’s not doing very well suffering” mother who Brown reports is unable to contact her son. It would seem Brown isn’t as ‘friendly’ with the pop star as he claims, otherwise he would have expressed his concern in a private conversation. My sources tell me Jackson talks to his mother regularly and she has no problem getting in touch with him… According to Bain, Jackson will become more “proactive and reactive” in responding to the constant media frenzy and speculation. Tired of people speaking on his behalf, the real Jackson spokesperson has finally stood up. Hello, what took so long?
