(Reuters) – I confess I’m moderately impressed that the original “King of Pop” still has what it takes to get fans less than half his age screaming and crying with just a few well-chosen words.
Fifty-year-old Michael Jackson was at London’s 20,000-seater O2 Arena on Thursday to announce his comeback, a series of 10 concerts starting on July 8 and possibly more if demand is there.

The Association Of Secondary Ticket Agents (ASTA) has issued a warning about bogus tickets to see Michael Jackson at the London O2 Arena this summer going on sale.
Jackson is making an announcement at the O2 Arena complex later today (March 5), and is expected to announce details of a summer residency at the venue.
However, some websites have already been offering tickets to the shows, despite none being announced yet, prompting the ASTA to issue a warning to punters.
“We are warning people not to buy tickets that are not yet on sale because it is unlikely that they will receive those tickets,” ASTA chief Graham Burns told BBC 6music.
Fans and members of the press have begun gathering outside Michael Jackson’s hotel in London ahead of his “special announcement” tomorrow.
Jackson is widely expected to announce a series of concerts during a press conference at the O2 Arena.
The King of Pop checked into his hotel in West London last night (March 3rd) after arriving in the capital from Los Angeles by private jet.
The Jackson-net is abuzz with news that the King of Pop is flying to London and will make a special announcement this Thursday March 5.
As the report goes, Michael Jackson is supposed to land at the airport sometime today and will make a “special announcement at approx 4:00pm on Thursday”.
According to China.org.cn, the head of the auction house coordinating the auction of Jackson memorabilia says Michael Jackson “wants to move on to the next chapter in his life”.
Some 2,000 personal items will go up for auction in April which includes furniture, movie memorabilia, sculptures, fine art, costumes and even the gates of Neverland Ranch.
Items will be show in Dublin from March 6-22 and in New York from March 24-30.
